Terms
Draft, last updated October 30, 2026. These are still being reviewed and may change before our first paid sprint. A change never applies to a sprint you've already paid for.
These are the terms for buying an interview sprint from Forty Letters ("we", "us"). We wrote them to be read. If something's unclear, email hello@fortyletters.com and ask.
What you're buying
One interview sprint, paid once. It includes:
- 40 companies we pick from what you tell us at intake, which you approve
- one named person at each company, usually a founder, hiring manager or team lead, with a work email address that has passed a mailbox check
- an application for each open role we find, written for that role
- a short email from you to each person, plus one follow-up
- a spreadsheet with all of it
There's no subscription and nothing renews. The price is the one shown on the payment link we send you.
How it works and how long it takes
You fill out the intake form. We reply within one business day. If we don't think we can help, we tell you and you don't pay. If we do, we email you a payment link.
Within 3 business days of payment, we deliver your list and drafts. You can ask us to swap any company you don't want. We do swaps within one business day. A business day is Monday to Friday, not counting US federal holidays.
What we don't do
- We don't log into your email, LinkedIn, Indeed or any other account, and we never ask for your passwords.
- We don't send emails or submit applications for you. You do both, from your own accounts.
- We don't promise a job offer. We promise the work above, and a refund if it doesn't get you a first-round interview.
The guarantee
If you don't get a qualifying interview within 30 days, we refund the full price you paid.
A qualifying interview is a live phone call, video call or in-person meeting about a job, with someone employed by one of the companies on your final list. A screening call with that company's own recruiter counts. Take-home tests, skills assessments, recorded one-way video, automated or chatbot screeners, and calls with outside or agency recruiters don't count. An interview at a company that isn't on your list doesn't count either way.
The 30 days start on the day we deliver your finished list and drafts. If we deliver late, the 30 days still start on the day we actually deliver.
What you have to do for the guarantee to apply:
- send the first email to each person on your final list within 7 days of delivery
- send each follow-up within 3 days of the date we put on it, unless that person has already replied
- tell us honestly about the replies you get when you claim
If you decide not to contact a company, ask us to swap it before you send. Companies you skip without a swap count against the 7 day rule.
To claim, email us from the address you signed up with, within 15 days after your 30 days end. Say you didn't get a qualifying interview and tell us which companies wrote back, if any. We refund the full price to your original payment method within 5 business days of your email. Your bank may take a few more days to show it. One guarantee refund per person.
If we think a claim doesn't meet these terms, we'll tell you why in writing and point to the exact line. We won't add conditions that aren't written here.
Other refunds
- If you change your mind before we deliver, email us and we'll refund you in full.
- If we can't deliver 40 companies that fit what you asked for, we'll tell you, and you can take a full refund or a smaller list with a partial refund.
- After delivery, refunds go through the guarantee above.
Please email us before disputing a charge with your bank. We'll sort it out faster.
Your part
- Give us true information. If your resume or experience is misrepresented, we can't stand behind the guarantee.
- The emails and applications go out under your name, from your accounts, and they're yours. Read them before you send them and change anything that isn't accurate.
- If someone you email asks you not to contact them again, don't. Each draft gives them an easy way to say so.
- You need to be 18 or older.
Who owns what
Once you've paid, the drafts we write for you are yours to use however you like. We keep the right to use what we learn from sprints, like reply rates and which kinds of emails work, in a form that doesn't identify you or anyone you contacted.
Limits
We do careful work, but we can't control whether companies are hiring, who replies, or how an interview goes. Our total responsibility to you for a sprint is capped at the price you paid for it. We aren't responsible for indirect losses, like income from a job you didn't get. Some places don't allow these limits, and where that's true they don't apply to you.
Ending things
We can decline to take on a sprint for any reason before you pay. If we stop a sprint after you've paid, for any reason other than you breaking these terms, we refund you in full.
Changes and law
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your sprint is the one in place on the day you paid. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland.
